CBD FaqS & Common Questions

What Is cbd?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the 80+ cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, which happens to have a very similar genetic make to Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Although the two compounds provide identical medicinal healing qualities, CBD lacks psychoactive properties, or the high feeling which comes with smoking marijuana. Think of CBD as Mary Jane’s business professional cousin. CBD does not have any toxic or addictive qualities and yields little to no side effects. CBD does not require a prescription in the United States and eases symptoms related to swelling, joint pain, migraines, anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, PTSD, fibromyalgia, eating disorders, ALS, gastrointestinal disorders, insomnia, cancer and so much more. CBD is also safe for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, children and pets.

What is a cannabinoid?

Cannabinoids belong to a diverse class of chemical compounds which make up the cannabis plant. The most popularly known yet most misunderstood cannabinoid is THC – the compound responsible for psychoactive responses, otherwise referred to as “weed” or “pot”. CBD is a cannabinoid that has immense anti-inflammatory and anti-depressant qualities, in addition to being positively responsive in treating chronic disorders, without any psychoactive properties.

Cannabinoids are also produced within the brain and belong to our body’s Endocannabinoid System. Cannabinoids in the hemp plant mimic receptors in our brains that regulate pain perception, stress, weight, appetite, sleeping patterns and sexual activity. The striking similarities found between cannabinoids in the hemp plant and our bodies are what makes CBD treatments so successful, making the cannabis plant a breakthrough in modern medicine.

Is CBD legal in the USA?

The legality of CBD products depends on where it comes from, i.e. medical marijuana or industrial hemp, and whether or not it contains THC. Cannabidiol oil from medical marijuana, which is known for having THC concentrations of about 30% or higher, is only legal in states where medical marijuana laws have been passed. CBD oil from industrial hemp containing less than 0.3% THC is ruled as a dietary supplement according to federal law.

Our CBD comes from American grown industrial hemp, which is legal to import, consume and sell in all fifty states. CBD itself has been increasingly recognized as a legitimate medicine on a global scale since Charlotte Figi observed astounding results from CBD at the age of six, opening the eyes of millions to treating children with cannabis. Our operations are permitted in accordance to section 7607 of the 2014 Agricultural Act (Farm Bill), the only current measure permitting legal hemp pilot programs.  We are one of the only US companies with true seed to shelf control over our product as permitted by the federal government and we stringently test and certify all our products at every stage of the process.

Will i get high if i use CBD?

No! Though CBD has many of the same medicinal benefits as THC, it lacks any psychoactive properties. This means you can take CBD without feeling stoned, dizzy, light-headed, or paranoid AND neither your short term memory nor your motor skills will be affected. CBD is also known to counteract the negative effects of THC, like paranoia and a decline in cognitive skills. Hemp not high!

What’s the difference between marijuana and hemp?

Though marijuana and hemp are both versions of the Cannabis Sativa plant, they have their own respective differences which are commonly misconceived.
